Worthy Vision is a leading grassroots driven organization operating in south central Somalia and ASAL Region in Kenya. It’s a non-governmental and non-profit making entity. It was established in 2009 by group of professionals, who saw the need to improve the socio-economic conditions of the disadvantaged communities in South west Somalia, Juba land state of Somalia and Northern part of Kenya. The organization targets to support marginalized communities and by extension refugees and IDPs in the context of emergency situations. It was founded on the basis of alleviating human suffering which was on its peak at the time following devastating civil clashes and other natural disasters which resulted in large scale starvation of thousands of vulnerable people in the stated region.
Better livelihoods and wellbeing for marginalized communies, now and for future generaons. Worthy Vision focuses its work on providing soluons for marginalized communies faced with contextual challenges in South central Somalia and Northern region of Kenya. As an organizaon, we leverage on our extensive experience in grassroots mobilizaon and knowledge sharing to amplify and contextualize local soluons for local problems within our operaonal areas.
To create and promote rural solutions. for community transformation. Worthy Vision aims to Work with communities to improve their well-being through the introduction of integrated development initiatives for societal transformation. In this work, we target communities, particularly women, less fortunate youth and marginalized groups so as to manage future self- help development to make significant and positive impact in the lives of its target
Worthy Vision has a dedicated Board of Directors which provide the overall leadership and oversight to the organization. The day to day operational of the organization are run by the Secretariat headed by the Executive Director who is also an ex-official member of the Board. The secretariat composes of the senior management team which includes the program manager, the finance manager, procurement manager, the communication manager, the HR manager and the monitoring and evaluation manager. The management makes the key decisions that are required for the implementation of the day to day activities of the organization.
Worthy Vision empowers communities in Northern Kenya and Somalia through sustainable development initiatives, focusing on education, health, food security, and peace-building.
